On Saturday, 28th September, adoption brought us together in the stunning coastal setting of Hengistbury Head. Against the backdrop of rugged cliffs and the calming sea breeze, adopters, adoptees, birth mothers, and others touched by adoption gathered to share, connect, and walk side by side.

The day began at the Hiker Cafe, where we collected coffees and our Walk Together t-shirts before embarking on a 5km walk along scenic trails. As we followed the path, conversations flowed, supported by the natural beauty around us. The coastline’s serenity echoed the depth of the stories being shared - stories of adoption that connect us in diverse, powerful ways.

Sharing personal experiences around adoption can be challenging. But what stood out was the incredible bravery of everyone who opened up, showing vulnerability and strength in equal measure. Through laughter, tears, and heartfelt conversations, we were reminded that no one is alone in their journey.
By the end of the walk, not only had we covered kilometres, but we had also forged new friendships and deepened our sense of connection. These moments of openness, reflection, and shared experience will stay with us as we continue to walk together.
Looking forward to our next event? Keep an eye on our Eventbrite, Facebook, and Instagram pages for updates. Until then, we’ll carry these memories with us, knowing that the strength of our community is built step by step, story by story.
